Making it easier to pay bail could reduce the average daily jail population by 200 people. Key strategies include:

• helping defendants and their families post bail before the defendant enters jail by making bail payment easier and faster;
• launching a charitable bail fund to help some defendants and their families for whom low amounts of bail can be out of reach financially; and
• launching an online bail payment system.
